Oculus will begin accepting pre-orders for Rift, its virtual reality (VR) headset, at 8am Pacific Time on Wednesday, January 6. Each device - expected to cost around $500 - will come with a copy of Lucky's Tale, a game starring a cartoon fox. Space shooter Eve: Valkyrie will be included with all pre-orders.
Facebook-owned Oculus expects to launch its headset in the first quarter of 2016. Players will use an Xbox One gamepad as the company recently pushed back the release of its twin motion controllers, Touch, into the second half of the year.
Founder Palmer Luckey will be fielding questions via a Reddit 'Ask Me Anything' session at 6pm on Wednesday.
