Star Wars could be the Biggest Movie Ever

Star Wars: The Force Awakens has racked up $1.5bn in international ticket sales in just 19 days, leaving it on track to surpass Avatar's record of $2.79bn and become the biggest blockbuster of all time.

Disney rebooted the space opera franchise after acquiring Lucasfilm for $4bn in 2011. It was directed by J.J. Abrams of Lost and Star Trek fame and features cast members from the original trilogy such as Harrison Ford and Mark Hamill.

Reviews of the movie have been overwhelming positive: it has received an average rating of 81/100 from 52 critics, according to Metacritic.
